What changes from sector to sector
These are the constraints that most often drive cost and lead time. Telling us which apply to your job at enquiry stage usually saves a round of revisions.
Hygiene & surface finish
Food, beverage and pharmaceutical work needs crevice-free welds and a specified surface roughness. We agree the finish in writing before production starts, because it cannot be added afterwards without rework.
Corrosion & service environment
Chemical exposure, coastal air and buried service all point to different grades and coatings. If you tell us the environment, we will tell you where a cheaper material is genuinely fine and where it is a false economy.
Documentation & traceability
Pressure, structural and audited environments need mill certificates and heat-number traceability. Requesting these after delivery is difficult and sometimes impossible, so flag them on the enquiry.
Downtime cost
When a line is stopped, lead time outranks unit price. Tell us it is a breakdown and we will quote the fastest route rather than the cheapest one.
Batch consistency
For repeat production, holding the same dimensions across batches matters more than any single part being perfect. We keep the setup and the inspection record between runs.
Export requirements
